About Frank Murphy

From Kilmeaden, Co. Waterford, Frank Murphy is a very well known hurley-maker. Frank has been making hurleys full time since 1980, while he worked on a part time basis in the 1970s. Hurley making has been in existence through several generations of the Murphy family, going back all the way to 1903, when Frank's gran-uncle, Beb Murphy, began the tradition. All of Frank's hurleys are handmade and are made from 100% Irish ash. Frank has a loyal customer base in Waterford and further afield in counties such as Antrim, Armagh, Dublin, Galway, Limerick, Cork as well as abroad.
