Peter Flanagan - Waterford
About Peter Flanagan
Peter is a qualified Carpenter/joiner and has 12 years experience in the trade. His dream throughout his hurling career was to become a hurley maker, and in 2006 he took the plunge and started his own hurley making business. He spent a year training with well renowned hurley maker Neddy Gough (R.I.P.), during this time Neddy showed him the craft of hurley making to a fine art.
He now has accomplished his dream, as he has a thriving hurley making business. It is a family run business, his wife Patrice looks after all the sales and orders while Peter concentrates on making a top quality hurley. He receives great help also from his dad Pierie and father in law (ex. Dual county player) Pat Clancy in locating top quality Irish ash. All our ash is naturally dried for up to 18 months to ensure our hurleys are well seasoned to withstand the “clash of the ash”. Also we can’t forget the help we get from both mother's who keeps us all well fed throughout the busy championship months.
Who uses Peter Flanagan's hurleys?
Ken McGrath, Dan Shanahan, Michael 'Brick' Walsh and many other Waterford senior hurlers as well as the senior camogie team.

Michael "Brick" Walsh - "Peter's hurley's are well finished, made of good quality ash and Peter provides a great service".
Ken McGrath - "I use Peter Flanagan Hurley's, they're a well balanced hurley".
